Ready To Go

So here we are in Port Hadlock, Washington. In three days we set sail for Canada and The Inside Passage. We've decided to spend a few nights in the marina hotel (pictured) while provisioning the boat. Bob and Betty are to arrive later this afternoon. Today we spent most of our time figuring out where four adults on a 24 day passage can store their clothes, food, and equipment on a 35ft. sailboat. Even if you read magazines like Real Simple you never fully understand just how dependent we all have become on having unlimited space and material possessions until you try to pare everything down to the essentials. It's both fun and sobering. Jim remembered to bring things like the navigation parallels, the distress flares, and emergency patches for the dingy. He forgot all of his underwear! Not to worry, we took care of that problem today.
